The trailhead for Grass Pass across hwy 541 from where we parked.A slightly damp trail from recent rains.Beautiful and plentiful wildflowers along the hike to Grass Pass. These are Three-Flowered Avens.Shoot Stars.Nearing the pass - you can see where it got its name from.At Grass Pass.Alpine Forget-me-not.The classic Pasque Flower.Acres of flowers along the trail in sublime alpine meadows.Acres of flowers along the trail in sublime alpine meadows.Lovely open sections along the trail give us glimpses of our objective, looking big here looming to the left.Looking up the drainage towards Mount Head - clouds are thickening but we're still in sun here.Looking for a track in the bush to the north of the creek.Looking back at a light bushwhacking section.We tried the creekbed a few times but didn't linger due to awful deadfall.Clematis.We tried the creekbed a few times but didn't linger due to awful deadfall.Very fresh tree blazes along a section of the drainage marked a fairly obvious and mostly clear trail.The bush wasn't thick but it did get a bit tedious after a while.A big cairn tells us to stay north of the creek - not that it looks inviting to go left here anyway.
