There's lots of camping in the area but do you really want to?Just past the gate, a bridge crosses the raging Carbondale River.Carpets of Shooting Star flowers dot the ditch beside the road.On a trail that part of me wonders might lead to a north cutline that goes right to the summit...Fresh greens.Snowy peaks with deep greens.A matchstick forest on ascent makes for pretty easy hiking.I wanted to be high on the ridge to my left here.Willows and Glacier Lilies.Finally getting up on the north ridge looking at the north summit.Views back down the north ridge to Adanac Road and Maverick Hill (R).Views to the north summit.Views north from the north ridge.The interesting summit that called me back to return along this route.Views south to Prairie Bluff, Victoria and Table Mountain.Darrah (L), Pengelly, McGladrey, Ptolemy SE5 and Coulthard (R).I traversed the east side of the north summit on approach to save energy.Finally the true summit of Carbondale Hill comes into view.Carbondale Hill and Lookout.Losing height before gaining it back to Carbondale Hill.
