Mount Sir Donald looms over the Wheeler Hut approach road.Following two groups up the rolling, icy hillocks along the Illecillewaet approach. Lookout Mountain on the right - very foreshortened here!The camera only sees 'blue' in the cold morning shadows as we start ascending climber's right of the Illy approach valley.This slope was very steep and very packed out / icy.As we got higher the terrain became more interesting.Nearing the glacier terminus - this almost looks like a crevasse.Looking back at our approach up the moraine on the left and hwy 1 as it gets smaller and smaller far below.Finally on the Illecillewaet Glacier!
