Hiking up the lower array of trails can be confusing but there's signs to guide you.Our first glimpse at the end of the south ridge.Wietse hikes up the powerline right of way.On the bike trail for a bit.Yellow Violets.A nice trail through the forest.The "Fernie Trail Association" maintains the trail.Views back over the town of Fernie towards Morrissey Ridge.Views back over the town of Fernie towards Morrissey Ridge and Mount Fernie (R).The trail has some great positions for views over the Elk River Valley.Running into snow patches as we continue up to the first peak south of Proctor.Wietse hikes up the south ridge of Proctor.Looking back down the south ridge.The trail looks to traverse a ledge here but there's too much snow.A bit of easy scrambling when the trail has too much snow (R).Neat landscapes on the south ridge.The Fernie / Elk River Valley is so green.Mount Hosmer lies to the north of Proctor and is also a scramble.Starting our traverse around the south aspect of the first false summit.Traversing on snow slopes around the south aspect of the first false summit.
