Our plane. A de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver from Viking Outpost Air. This is a classic workhorse of the Canadian north.

Embryo Lake.

Anchor Lake is just north of Embryo. Note the Domain Lake fire in the distance at upper left.

Looking over Domain Lake towards the wildfire that blocked our original route which was right through the burnt (and still smoldering) area at center.

Hansen Lake - another lake we were originally going to paddle through but was closed due to fire hazard.

A fire is seen smoldering off in the distance near Hammerhead Lake, the large lake visible here is the lovely Rostoul Lake - another closed lake that we were originally going to paddle through.

Haven Lake comes into view - our destination for this evening. But we'll fly one lake further west first - Adventure Lake.

We'll be canoeing down this narrow waterway within a few hours. Haven at left and Adventure at right. As you can see, this area is already burned from previous fires.

Disembarked and watching the Beaver take off to pick up and return with Harold and Hentie.
